Throughout 2020, the stock market has experienced the destabilizing force of speculative Robinhood investors, the inheritance of Baby Boomer money, massive government stimulus, a low interest environment, and an unprecedented insatiable appetite for U.S. SPAC IPOs, all of which have warped the markets beyond recognition. In this article, we will try to make sense of the SPAC mania that has taken hold of public markets and assess the viability of SPACs as an investment vehicle in the future.
